- మహాశివరాత్రికి ఇక్కడ జరిగే తిరునాళ్ల రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా ప్రసిద్ధి. కొలిచిన ప్రజలకు కొంగుబంగారంగా నిలుస్తూ స్వామి వారు భక్తులకు కనువిందు చేస్తున్నాడు.
- ‘‘చేదుకో కోటయ్య.. చేదుకోవయ్యా.. చేదుకొని మమ్మాదుకోవయ్యా’’ అంటూ భక్తులు స్మరిస్తూ స్వామిని దర్శించుకుంటారు.
- కోటప్పకొండ తిరునాళ్ల మహాశివరాత్రి ఒక్కరోజు మాత్రమే జరిగే వేడుక. దీనికి లక్షలాది మంది తరలివస్తారు.
- చేదుకో కోటయ్యా.. మమ్ము ఆదుకోవయ్యా అంటూ భక్తుల స్మరణతో కోటప్పకొండ మారుమోగనుంది.
- శివరాత్రి పురస్కరించుకుని శైవక్షేత్రం దేదీప్యమానంగా ‘ప్రభ’వించనుంది. పరిసర గ్రామాల నుంచి భారీ విద్యుత్తు ప్రభలు కొండకు తరలిరానున్నాయి.
- త్రికోటేశ్వరుని సన్నిధి భక్తులతో కళకళలాడనుంది. ఆధ్యాత్మికత పంచనుంది. స్వామి వారికి ప్రత్యేక పూజలు, అభిషేకాలు నిర్వహించనున్నారు.
నవ్యాంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్‌లోని ప్రముఖ శైవక్షేత్రాల్లో కోటప్పకొండ ప్రసిద్ధి చెందింది. మహిమాన్వితమైన ఈ క్షేత్రం దినదినాభివృద్ధి చెందుతోంది. ఆధ్యాత్మికతతో పాటు పర్యాటకంగానూ ప్రత్యేకత చాటుతోంది. దేశంలోని దక్షిణ భాగంలో సుప్రసిద్ధ ప్రాచీన శైవక్షేత్రాల్లో భూలోక కైలాసంగా, దక్షిణ కాశీగా పేరుగాంచింది. భక్తుల కోర్కెలు తీర్చే దైవంగా త్రికోటేశ్వరుడు మన్ననలందుకుంటున్నాడు. ప్రభలు కట్టినా.. మొక్కులు చెల్లించినా మురిసి మైమరిసిపోతాడని ప్రతీతి. గతంలో స్వామిని దర్శించుకోవాలంటే భక్తులకు 700 పైచిలుకు మెట్లు ఉన్న మార్గమే దిక్కు. అనంతరం కొండపైకి రోడ్డు వేయడంతో భక్తులు స్వామిని సులువుగా వెళ్లి దర్శించుకుంటున్నారు.
ప్రభల సంబరం ప్రభ అంటే వెలుగు. అజ్ఞాన అంధకారాన్ని పారదోలి జ్ఞానాన్ని అందించే జ్ఞాన ప్రదాత శ్రీమేధా దక్షిణామూర్తి. ఆయన కొలువైన దివ్యక్షేత్రం కోటప్పకొండ. దీనినే త్రికూటాచలంగా పిలుస్తారు. దేశంలో త్రికూటాలు ఉన్న క్షేత్రాల్లో విశిష్టత ఉన్నది కోటప్పకొండకు మాత్రమే. బాహ్యమైన వెలుగు ద్వారా అంతర్లీనంగా ఉన్న జ్ఞానాన్ని ప్రకాశనం చేసేందుకు ప్రభలు కట్టుకోవడం ఆనవాయితీ. దేశంలో భారీస్థాయిలో ప్రభలు నిర్మించే సంస్కృతి కోటప్పకొండ ప్రాంతాల్లోనే కనిపిస్తోంది. అంతే కాకుండా తపస్సు చేసుకునే సాధకులు ప్రశాంతమైన వాతావరణం ఉన్న ప్రదేశం కావడంతో కోటప్పకొండకు అంతటి విశిష్ఠత లభించింది.
సమష్టితత్వానికి ప్రతీక: గ్రామీణ ప్రాంతాల్లో ఆధ్యాత్మికత, భక్తిభావాల పెంపుతో పాటు ప్రజల్లో సమష్టితత్వానికి ప్రభ నిర్మాణం ప్రతీకగా నిలుస్తుంది. ప్రభల వెంట వందలాది మంది అనుసరిస్తూ దేవుని సన్నిధికి తరలిస్తారు. కోటప్పకొండ తిరునాళ్లలో చిలకలూరిపేట ప్రాంత ప్రభలది ప్రత్యేక వైభవం.
ఈ ఏడాది చిలకలూరిపేట ప్రాంతంలో మొత్తం 14 ప్రభలు నిర్మించారు. వాటిలో అగ్రస్థానం పురుషోత్తమపట్నానిదే. ఆ గ్రామంలో విడదలవారి ప్రభ, తోట పుల్లప్పతాతగారి ప్రభ, గ్రామ ప్రభ, మండలనేనివారి ప్రభ, భైరావారి ప్రభ, చిన్నతోటవారి ప్రభ, యాదవరాజుల ప్రభ ఇలా మొత్తం ఏడింటిని ఏర్పాటు చేశారు. కావూరు, మద్దిరాల, యడవల్లి, అమీన్‌సాహెబ్‌పాలెం, అప్పాపురం గ్రామాల్లో ఒక్కొక్క ప్రభ, కమ్మవారిపాలెంలో రెండు ప్రభలు నిర్మించారు. ఈ ప్రభల నిర్మాణానికి దాదాపుగా రూ.2.10కోట్లు ఖర్చు చేశారు. చాలా ఏళ్లుగా సంప్రదాయాన్ని వీడకుండా ఖర్చుకు వెనకాడకుండా కోటప్పకొండకు ప్రభలు నిర్మించి తరలిస్తూనే ఉన్నారు.
శంకరతత్వమే ప్రభలకు మూలం: సర్వపాపాలను హరించి సకల శుభాలు ఇచ్చేది శంకరుడని భక్తుల విశ్వాసం. కోటప్పకొండపై మేధా దక్షిణామూర్తిగా వెలిసిన శంకరుని వద్దకు ప్రభలు కడితే జ్ఞానం, సంపదలు కలుగుతాయని నమ్మకం. కోటి ఒక్క ప్రభలు నిర్మిస్తే స్వయంగా కొండ దిగి వస్తానని త్రికోటేశ్వరుడు చెప్పినట్లు పురాణగాథ ప్రచారంలో ఉంది. పూర్వం ప్రభలు కట్టని ఇల్లు ఉండేది కాదంటే అతిశయోక్తి కాదు. బాలప్రభలు, చిట్టిప్రభలు, మొక్కుబడి ప్రభలు ఇలా పలు రకాల నిర్మించేవారు.
- మహాశివరాత్రి పర్వదినాన ఇక్కడ జరిగే ప్రభల సంబరం అంబరాన్ని అంటుతుంది. కోటప్పకొండ ప్రభలకు దేశవ్యాప్తంగా విశేషమైన గుర్తింపు ఉంది. చుట్టుపక్కల గ్రామాల నుంచే కాకుండా ఇతర రాష్ట్రాల నుంచి కూడా ప్రభల సంబరాన్ని చూసేందుకు భక్తులు ఇక్కడకు తరలివస్తారు.
- వీటి నిర్మాణం కోసం నిర్వాహకులు రూ.లక్షల్లో ఖర్చు చేస్తుంటారు.
- చిన్నారులు నిర్మించే అడుగు ఎత్తు బాలప్రభలు మొదలుకొని 90 అడుగుల ఎత్తు వరకు ఉండే భారీ ప్రభలను ఎన్నో వ్యయప్రయాసలకోర్చి ఇక్కడకు తీసుకువస్తారు.
- గ్రామాలకు గ్రామాలే ఈ ప్రభలు వెంట తరలివస్తాయి. కాలక్రమంలో ఆయా ప్రభలకు విద్యుత్ అలంకరణలు మరింత శోభను తీసుకువచ్చాయి.
- కోటప్పకొండ తిరునాళ్లలో విద్యుత్తు ప్రభలే ప్రత్యేక ఆకర్షణ. 40 అడుగుల నుంచి వంద అడుగుల ఎత్తున్న ఇవి కోటప్పకొండకు మహాశివరాత్రి రోజు తరలి వస్తాయి.
- అలాగే మొక్కుబడి ప్రభలు కొండకు తరలివస్తాయి. మహాశివరాత్రికి ముందుగా వచ్చే ఏకాదశినాడే అనేకమంది మొక్కుబడుల ప్రభలతో కోటప్పకొండకు తరలివస్తారు.
- ఇక్కడ అనేక సంప్రదాయాలు ఉన్నాయి. పలువురు పశుసంపదను తీసుకొచ్చి శిఖర ప్రదక్షణ చేయిస్తారు. అలాగే ఇతర జీవాలను కూడా తెచ్చి గిరి ప్రదక్షణ చేయించడం ఆనవాయితీగా వస్తోంది.
తిరునాళ్ల ప్రత్యేకత
- కోటప్పకొండ తిరునాళ్లకు ప్రత్యేకత ఉంది. నిర్మలత్వం, ప్రశాంతత మూర్తీభవించిన ఓంకార స్వరూపుడు శ్రీ దక్షిణామూర్తి. దక్షిణాధిముఖంగా ఆశీనుడైన మూర్తి కనుక ఈ పేరు సార్థకమైంది.
- త్రికోటేశ్వరుడు బ్రహ్మచారి. అందువల్ల ఇక్కడ వివాహాలు ఉండవు.
- దేవస్థానంలో ధ్వజస్తంభం కూడా ఉండదు. ధనుర్మాసంలో ఆరుద్రోత్సవం ఇక్కడ నిర్వహిస్తారు.
ప్రభుత్వ స్టాళ్లు
- తిరునాళ్ల రోజు ప్రభుత్వపరంగా అన్ని శాఖల స్టాళ్లు పెట్టడం కొన్నేళ్లుగా ఆనవాయితీగా వస్తోంది.
- తిరునాళ్లకు వచ్చిన రైతాంగానికి ప్రభుత్వ పథకాల గురించి తెలియజేస్తారు.
- భద్రత పరంగా కోటప్పకొండకు పోలీసు అధికారుల ప్రత్యేక క్యాంప్‌ ఏర్పాటవుతోంది. పోలీసు అధికారుల కోసం ప్రత్యేకంగా గుడారాలు నిర్మిస్తారు.
స్వామి వారి ప్రసాదం
- తిరునాళ్ల సందర్భంగా కొండకు వస్తున్న భక్తుల కోసం లక్షా 75 వేల లడ్డూలు, 80 వేల అరిసెలు తయారు చేస్తున్నారు.
- దేవాదాయ శాఖ తరపున అనేక దేవస్థానాల నుంచి ప్రత్యేక సిబ్బంది, ఉద్యోగులు తిరునాళ్ల పురస్కరించుకుని విధులు నిర్వహిస్తారు.
లక్షలాది మందికి అన్నదానాలు
- కోటప్పకొండలో సుమారు 29 సామాజిక వర్గాలకు చెందిన అన్నదాన సత్రాలు ఉన్నాయి.
- వీటిలో ఏటా 3 నుంచి 4 లక్షల మందికి అన్నదానం చేస్తారని అంచనా. తిరునాళ్లకు వచ్చిన ప్రజలకు అన్నం అందుబాటులో లేదన్న ప్రశ్నే ఉత్పన్నం కాదు.
- ఉదయం నుంచి రాత్రి వరకు వండి వడ్డిస్తుంటారు. సత్రాలు లేని సామాజిక వర్గాలు సాగరు కాల్వ దగ్గర ఉండే ఖాళీ ప్రదేశంలో కూడా వండి వడ్డిస్తుంటారు.
Mahashivaratri, Siva’s great night, venerates Parashiva. Devotees of Siva consider it the most holy night of the year.
Mahashivaratri is the night before the new-moon day in February-March. We observe it both as a discipline and a festivity, keeping a strict fast and all-night vigil, meditating, intoning Siva’s 1,008 names, singing His praise, chanting Shri Rudram, bathing the Sivalinga and being near the vairagis as they strive to realize Parashiva. The Vedas proclaim, “The Lord, God, all-pervading and omnipresent, dwells in the heart of all beings. Full of grace, He ultimately gives liberation to all creatures by turning their faces toward Himself.” Aum Namah Sivaya “.
All Hindus consider it most important to live near a temple, and we build one wherever we find ourselves in the world. This is a most meritorious act, earning blessings in this life and the next. Religious life centers around the temple. It is here in God’s home that we nurture our relationship with the Divine. Not wanting to stay away too long, we visit the temple at least weekly, and we strive to attend each major festival, when the shakti of the Deity is most powerful. Devout Siva bhaktas attend daily puja in the temple.
All Siva bhaktas visit the temple on Siva’s most sacred day of the year, Mahashivaratri. Being the homes of the Gods and God, temples are approached with great reverence and humility. Draw near the temple as you would approach a king, a governor, a president of a great realm, anticipating with a little trepidation your audience with him. The Vedas say, “May the Lord find pleasure in our song of praise! Priest among men, may he offer due homage to the heavenly beings! Great, O Lord, is your renown.” Aum Namah Sivaya “.
This special sacred night, Mahasivaratri, will soon be here. Make it the most important spiritual event of your life. Remembering your goal, which is God Realization, the purpose of human birth, draw close to God Siva. Climb to the top of Mount Kailas within yourself, experience the presence of God Siva within as your very Self, permeating the entire universe. Prepare yourself for this great night by performing your sadhanas to perfection. Never forget the power of one life lived in perfection. You are a microcosm within yourself. Clean your home, make your heart a pure fountain of love, strive for harmony in your joint and extended family, with the families of all devotees and everyone you know. Fill the mind with thoughts of Siva. Begin now, clearing the mind, climbing daily within toward the summit of God-Realization.
Our most sacred night of the year is approaching, and we all want this to be the best, most wonderful and profound festival ever. We can make it that, or we can make it an ordinary night. It is within our power to do either, but we can’t do both. So let’s make it a time of being as close to God Siva as we possibly can. Isn’t that our purpose for coming to this planet? You can make your mind a perfect place, full of thoughts of God within, so full that other thoughts seem insignificant by comparison.
On Sivaratri night, chant silently Siva’s perfect mantra, Aum Namasivaya. We want to enjoy ourselves on Sivaratri night. Spiritual life is joyous life. The more joyous we are, the closer we are to the Source of joy and bliss. So, be happy on Sivaratri. Sing with a full heart. See God in everyone and in everything. Forget all the problems life brings. Forget all of the pains of the past and the not- yet-remembered future. Of course, we will be fasting, and that will help us feel the bliss of our Self as it permeates the world around us. And we will all be thinking of Siva, only of Siva. If your mind wanders, bring it back to Siva’s feet. Let Siva’s presence fill you completely during the night.
