సమష్టి సహకారంతో కోటప్పకొండ తిరునాళ్లను ప్రశాంతంగా నిర్వహించినట్లు నరసరావుపేట డీఎస్పీ కొమ్మనబోయిన నాగేశ్వరరావు అన్నారు. చిలకలూరిపేట నూతన అర్బన్‌ పోలీస్‌ స్టేషన్‌ ఆవరణలో బుధవారం రాత్రి కోటప్పకొండ తిరునాళ్ల విజయోత్సవ సభలో ఆయన పాల్గొని మాట్లాడారు. భక్తులు, ప్రభల నిర్వాహకులు, పోలీసులు, ప్రజాప్రతినిధులు, మీడియా మిత్రులు అందరి సహకారం మరచి పోలేనిదని కొనియాడారు. గ్రామీణ ఎస్పీ స్వతహాగా ఇంజినీర్‌ కావడంతో ఈ ఏడాది ట్రాఫిక్‌కు ఇబ్బంది లేకుండా తాత్కాలిక రహదారులు ఏర్పాటు చేసి వాహనాలను సజావుగా మళ్లించ గలిగామని చెప్పారు. నరసరావుపేట, చిలకలూరిపేట అర్బన్‌, రూరల్‌ సీఐలు, ఎస్‌ఐలు, ఇతర సిబ్బంది ప్రతిష్టాత్మకంగా తీసుకుని బందోబస్తు నిర్వహించారని కొనియాడారు. 

ప్రభ నిర్వాహకులు పోలీసుల సూచనలు కచ్చితంగా పాటించబట్టే ఇబ్బంది కలగలేదని అభినందనలు తెలిపారు. గతంలో తాను తిరునాళ్లకు వచ్చిన సమయంలో ట్రాఫిక్‌లో చిక్కుకున్న సందర్భాలు ఉన్నాయని, వాటిని దృష్టిలో ఉంచుకుని సామాన్య భక్తుల నుంచి వీఐపీల వరకు ఎవరూ ఇబ్బంది పడకూడదని ఏర్పాట్లు చేశామన్నారు. పలువురు ప్రభల నిర్వాహకులు మాట్లాడారు. కార్యక్రమంలో పోలీసు గృహ నిర్మాణ సంస్థ డీఈ రవికుమార్‌, చిలకలూరిపేట గ్రామీణ సీఐ దిలీప్‌కుమార్‌, అర్బన్‌ సీఐ బి.సురేష్‌బాబు, వినుకొండ గ్రామీణ సీఐ శ్రీనివాసరావు, నరసరావుపేట ఒన్‌టౌన్‌, టూటౌన్‌, రూరల్‌ సీఐలు, ఎస్సైలు, యడవల్లి, మద్దిరాల, పురుషోత్తమపట్నం, కావూరు, కమ్మవారిపాలెం, అప్పాపురం, అమీన్‌సాహెబ్‌పాలెం గ్రామాల ప్రభల నిర్వాహకులు పాల్గొన్నారు. 

కోటప్పకొండ త్రికోటేశ్వర స్వామి దేవస్థానం నూతన కమిటీ ఏర్పడిన తర్వాత జరిగిన తొలి తిరునాళ్ల సభాపతి డాక్టరు కోడెల శివప్రసాదరావు కృషి, అధికారుల సహకారంతో విజయవంతమైందని దేవస్థాన పాలక మండలి సభ్యులు అనుమోలు వెంకయ్యచౌదరి, కొత్తూరి రామసుబ్బారాయుడు, చెరుకూరి ప్రసాద్‌ తెలిపారు. వారికి కృతజ్ఞతలు తెలిపారు. స్థానిక రాజాగారికోటలోని తెదేపా కార్యాలయంలో బుధవారం విలేకర్ల సమావేశం నిర్వహించారు. వెంకయ్య చౌదరి మాట్లాడుతూ తిరునాళ్లకు నీరు రావేమో అన్న ఆందోళన ఉండగా సభాపతి ప్రయత్నంతో నీరు రావటం భక్తులకు ఆనందాన్ని కలిగించిందన్నారు. కోటప్పకొండ ఆధ్యాత్మికంగా, పర్యాటకంగా అభివృద్ధి సాధించేందుకు అన్ని చర్యలు తీసుకుంటున్నట్లు వెల్లడించారు. ఈసారి గతేడాది కంటే రూ.12 లక్షలు అధికంగా స్వామి వారికి ఆదాయం లభించినట్లు వివరించారు. 12న చాగంటి కోటేశ్వరరావు ప్రవచన కార్యక్రమం కోటప్పకొండలో నిర్వహించనున్నట్లు తెలిపారు. శ్రీత్రికోటేశ్వర వైభవం, శ్రీమేధా దక్షిణామూర్తి తత్త్వం, అక్షరాభ్యాస ఫలితం అనే అంశాలపై ఆయన ప్రసంగం చేస్తారన్నారు. 20న కోడెల శివప్రసాదరావు క్రీడా ప్రాంగణంలో తితిదే ఆధ్వర్యంలో శ్రీనివాస కల్యాణం నిర్వహించేందుకు ఏర్పాట్లు చేస్తున్నట్లు వివరించారు.

మహాశివరాత్రి సందర్భంగా కోటప్పకొండ త్రికోటేశ్వరునికి రూ.1,09,07,228 ఆదాయం లభించింది. గతేడాది కన్నా రూ.12 లక్షలు పైచిలుకు అదనంగా ఆదాయం లభించినట్లు దేవస్థాన సహాయ కమిషనర్‌ డి.శ్రీనివాసరావు తెలిపారు. దర్శనం టికెట్ల ద్వారా రూ.38,22,565, హుండీ రూ.43,42,665, ప్రసాదాల అమ్మకాల ద్వారా రూ.26,53,460, విరాళాలు, స్కీమ్‌ల ద్వారా రూ.88,561, 10 గ్రాములు బంగారం, 605 గ్రాముల వెండి లభించాయి. గతేడాదితో పోలిస్తే ఈ ఏడాది భక్తుల రాక తక్కువేనని భావిస్తున్నప్పటికీ స్వామివారి ఆదాయం పెరగటం విశేషం. అన్ని శాఖలు సమన్వయంతో పనిచేసి త్రికోటేశ్వరుని తిరునాళ్ల కార్యక్రమాన్ని విజయవంతం చేశారని సహాయ కమిషనర్‌ కృతజ్ఞతలు తెలిపారు.

ప్రభల ఏర్పాటులో ముందుండే చిలకలూరిపేట ప్రాంతం ఈసారి మరో ప్రత్యేకతను కూడా చాటుకుంది. అమీన్‌సాహెబ్‌పాలెం గ్రామానికి చెందిన పున్నారావు 60 అడుగుల విద్యుత్తు ప్రభను తయారు చేసి ప్రదర్శించారు. ప్రభకు ఏర్పాటు చేసే తడిక వరకు ఎల్‌ఈడీ బల్బులను అమర్చారు. మిగతా సెట్టింగ్‌ మొత్తం పెద్ద ప్రభకు ఉన్నట్లుగానే ఉంటాయని పున్నారావు తెలిపారు.

కోటప్పకొండ తిరునాళ్ల సమయం దగ్గర పడుతుండటంతో ఏటా క్రమం తప్పకుండా ప్రభలు కడుతున్న మద్దిరాల, యడవల్లి, పురుషోత్తంపట్నం, కావూరు, కమ్మవారిపాలెం, అప్పాపురం, అమీన్‌సాహెబ్‌పాలెం గ్రామాల్లో ప్రభల పనులు చకచకా చేస్తున్నారు. ఇప్పటికే సిద్ధంగా ఉంచుకున్న పొడుగు సరివి బారులను వరుసక్రమంలో తాళ్లతో ముడులు వేస్తూ కట్టేపనిలో నిమగ్నమయ్యారు. మద్దిరాల గ్రామస్థులు ఈ ఏడాది ప్రత్యేకంగా ఇనుముతో ప్రభకోసం బండిని తయారు చేశారు. ఐదేళ్ల నుంచి వరుసగా ప్రభను నిర్మిస్తున్న యడవల్లి తెలుగు యువత ఈసారి కూడా 95 అడుగుల ఎత్తులో ప్రభను ఏర్పాటు చేసే పనిలో ఉన్నారు. గ్రామాల్లో ప్రభల నిర్మాణ పనుల్లో ప్రజలు పాల్గొంటుండడంతో సందడి వాతావరణం నెలకొంది.

The majestic Sri Trikoteswara temple atop Kotappakonda is all decked up for Mahasivaratri festivities starting in the wee hours of Wednesday.

The festival is famous for processions in which people from neighbouring villages carry long and illuminated poles called ‘prabhas’, and spend the night on the temple premises chanting devotional hymns. This year the temple is bracing up for an unprecedented rush of pilgrims.

The legend

Legend says Siva, after destroying ‘Daksha yagna,’ changed into Dakshinamurthi, a 12-year-old boy. Heeding the plea of Brahma, he came down to the place surrounded by three hills named after Brahma, Vishnu and Rudra. Since then, the place has become a popular pilgrimage centre. Since Lord Siva is attired in the form of Dakshinamurthi, wedding ceremonies are not performed here.

Arrangements

The temple authorities have made elaborate arrangements anticipating a huge rush. Devotees can choose among free ‘darshan’, ‘sighra darshan’, (Rs.100 per ticket), ‘abhisekham’ (Rs.150 per couple) and ‘special darshan’. (Rs.50). Those seeking to perform puja to Mula Virat can do so by purchasing the Rs. 500 ticket and special queue lines have been set up for the purpose.

Only those vehicles with special passes would be allowed to ply on the ghat road.

Temple Executive Officer said that two permanent sheds have been put up for the benefit of pilgrims wishing to have free darshan. Two more queue complexes for ‘sighra darshan’, and ‘abhisekham’ have also been set up.

The Endowment Department has pressed into service 100 volunteers to handle the rush. Scouts and Guides and private security personnel have also been pressed into service.

Some 3,000 police personnel would be manning the temple premises round the clock. A temporary wireless receiver point has been set up and about 60 hand-held wireless sets have been provided to police personnel.

The APSRTC will ply 560 special services from Guntur, Narsaraopet, Chilakaluripet and Vinukonda. The fares are Rs.45 for adults and Rs.25 for children.

All arrangements have been made for Sivaratri at Kotappakonda near Narsaropet, to handle the expected 10 lakh people to the foothill and about 3 lakh people visiting the abode of Lord Trikoteswara Swamy, during 30 hours beginning 3 a.m. on Friday.

Trikoteswara Swamy temple Executive Officer Polavarapu Chandrasekhar said on Wednesday that festival this year they had not got any special grant so far, but the temple administration had sent a proposal for spending Rs.25 lakh as this has the status of a State festival.

No VIP darshan would be allowed this year but a sheegra darshan at Rs.100 per head and Rs.50 for special darshan would be charged in addition to a free darshan through the queue complex. Entire temple has been painted and grill swere put.

The police and revenue officials would keep a strict vigil on the security of people and special fencing has been built this time at the foothill. Special electricity permission has been taken and during the movement of tall prabhas power would be switched off to ensure no electrocution takes place. About 1.5 lakh laddus and 50,000 aresalu have been made as prasadam.

Drinking water facility was being provided in the queue complex through tap this time. Toilet facility was also provided in the complex. The Narsaraopet Revenue Divisional Officer said review of arrangement for sanitation and first aid had been made. The height of the prabhas also has been restricted to 40 feet.

As an alternative to sleazy dances by women on chariots (prabhas) and at the foothill during Sivaratri at Kotappakonda, the abode of Lord Trikoteswara Swamy, District Collector B. Venkatesham has decided to organise a mega musical and dance nite by differently abled persons.

While arrangements have been completed in all respects almost three days in advance, the police have taken stringent measures to control the traffic coming in an out of Kotappakonda near Narsaraopet in Guntur district for the Sivaratri festival to be held on Monday and continue till Tuesday morning.

Trikoteswara Swamy temple Executive Officer Polavarapu Chandrasekhar told that festival this year did not get any special grant like every year, but the administration got the entire temple painted inside and outside to give a fresh look to the entire complex.

About Rs. 4 lakhs was spent on it and drinking water facility was being provided in the queue complex by bringing three lakh water packets. Toilet facility was also provided in the complex, which was being readied for the day.

Construction of temporary sheds outside the queue complex, provision of taps on steps and prasadam at foothill were some of the new facilities.

Narsaraopet Revenue Divisional Officer K. Srinivasulu said that ZP and panchayat funds were being used to barricade up to 2 km on both sides of the main approach road and all kinds of shops were coming up at the foothill where ‘prabhas’ would be brought from all over Guntur and Prakasam districts.

Height of ‘prabhas’

The height of the ‘prabhas’ was restricted to 40 feet. The concentration was more on free flow of traffic with one road being made ‘one-way’. Temporary bus stations were provided as about 300 buses would be run by the Guntur APSRTC alone and others coming from neighbouring districts need space for parking.

RTC Regional Manager K.V.R.K. Prasad said that a special facility was being provided for all the passengers to buy their tickets for their journey on both sides.

The pilgrim rush at Kotappakonda in Guntur district virtually broke all previous records as nearly 10 lakh devotees having darshan of the  Lord in the hilltop temple of Sri Trikoteswara Swamy on the occasion of Mahasivaratri on Thursday.
According to the legend, Lord Siva performed a deeksha on Kotappakonda to overcome the grief after the death of his wife Sachidevi and subsequently people started worshipping the Lord.
