A ropeway facility would be provided to reach the hilltop of Kotappakonda soon. AP Legislative Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao said that steps have been taken to develop Kottapakonda, the abode of Lord Trikoteswara Swamy, into a modern religious centre.
Speaking after participating in the ‘Aksharabhyasam’ (administering letters to children) at the Kotappakonda temple, on Thursday, he said that the Kotappakonda ghat road was recently modernised and the hill shrine will witness more developmental activities like ropeway, sound, lighting and theater facilities in the coming days besides developing the existing eco-tourism sector.
Stating that the Vedic School being maintained by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) is producing Vedic Scholars and priests, he said that as many as 35 students are studying Vedas, Upanishads and other required religious holy books in the school this year.
Vedic School principal Venkatarama Sastry, temple Executive Officer Srinivasa Rao and others participated in the programme.
