All arrangements have been made for Sivaratri at Kotappakonda near Narsaropet, to handle the expected 10 lakh people to the foothill and about 3 lakh people visiting the abode of Lord Trikoteswara Swamy, during 30 hours beginning 3 a.m. on Friday.
Trikoteswara Swamy temple Executive Officer Polavarapu Chandrasekhar said on Wednesday that festival this year they had not got any special grant so far, but the temple administration had sent a proposal for spending Rs.25 lakh as this has the status of a State festival.
No VIP darshan would be allowed this year but a sheegra darshan at Rs.100 per head and Rs.50 for special darshan would be charged in addition to a free darshan through the queue complex. Entire temple has been painted and grill swere put.
The police and revenue officials would keep a strict vigil on the security of people and special fencing has been built this time at the foothill. Special electricity permission has been taken and during the movement of tall prabhas power would be switched off to ensure no electrocution takes place. About 1.5 lakh laddus and 50,000 aresalu have been made as prasadam.
Drinking water facility was being provided in the queue complex through tap this time. Toilet facility was also provided in the complex. The Narsaraopet Revenue Divisional Officer said review of arrangement for sanitation and first aid had been made. The height of the prabhas also has been restricted to 40 feet.
