The town which has been bracing up for the Kotappakonda festivities had an unexpected star guest on Saturday. Ace cricketer V.V.S. Laxman visited the town, spent time at the Hindu High School, where he was the chief guest at the annual day function.

Mr. Laxman, known to be deeply religious, visited the Kotappakonda shrine and offered special pooja to Trikoteswara Swamy. Temple Executive Officer Polavarapu Chandrasekhara Rao received the Test star with temple honours and accorded a traditional welcome by offering silk dhotis.
